Company History
Starting out as an apprentice in the carpentry trade, Russell soon established his own business and later formed construction company, R J Cunningham Ltd, which became one of the largest in the Southland area.
Over time, the company developed a broad portfolio and Russell shared his time between construction and property development. In 2003 Russell decided to switch his concentration solely onto property development and R J Cunningham Ltd was sold. With several commercial developments under his belt it was time for a new challenge. Russell turned his attention to the Invercargill Showground; his vision was to develop a vibrant business park and today his dream has become a reality, with this spot now home to numerous thriving local and national businesses.

Vicki Corkill
General Manager
Vicki joined the team in 1997 and knows the Russell Cunningham business like the back of her hand. Her role is extremely hands-on and she is responsible for a wide range of tasks, from section sales to liaising with tenants for new and existing buildings and sorting the fine print. Vicki works very closely with our existing tenants to ensure that they are happy and informed.
Alex Cunningham | MNZIQS
Director | Quantity Surveyor
Alex joined the company in 2012, bringing with him a wide range of skills. He is a qualified Quantity Surveyor and a full member of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors. Alex has experience both locally and internationally and is involved from the planning stages of new developments through to the completion date and sign off. His skill set means Russell Cunningham Properties is a one stop shop, where the team will be able to assist clients through the entire process of designing and constructing their new building.
Leanna Murdoch
Administration Manager
Leanna joined the team in 2008, coming from a strong background in accounts administration. Her flair for numbers makes her an extremely valuable member of the team and she makes sure our office runs smoothly on a day to day basis. Through her role Leanna has developed a strong rapport with our clients and she ensures that their needs are being met and helps keep the smiles on their faces.
